What Causes Face Wrinkles
Face Wrinkles happen
in men and women but not necessarily equally. But
both
do get facial wrinkles. The causes of face wrinkles have been discovered and some very good wrinkle solutions
have too. Keep reading and please note the resource box at the end for a special gift.
The only wrinkled face cause
in men and women for which there is no solution is genetics. Certain face characteristics
are passed down from one family member to the next.
At one time, it was thought
that genetics played a big role.
People often felt hopeless or thought there was nothing to be done, since it was
all a matter of genetics. Most researchers now believe that the role played by genetics in facial wrinkles is very
small.
Smiling, laughing, frowning
and other expressions were often blamed for skin wrinkling in the past. Expressions are probably
involved, but as is the case with genetics, the role played by expressing yourself is very
small. It
would probably do you more harm than good to try to avoid making those
expressions.
· Free Radical
Danger
The wrinkled face cause in
men and women that plays a very large role is free radical damage. Free radical molecules are
naturally present throughout the body, but they are highly reactive species. They can be harmless or even
beneficial, but it doesn’t take much to turn them into threats.
When people say that the
causes of skin wrinkling include sun exposure, they are actually talking about free radical
damage. One
of the things that cause the harmless molecules to damage skin cells and fibers is UV radiation from the
sun.
· Antioxidants
Combat Free Radicals
Antioxidants can normally
neutralize a radical molecule before it damages a cell membrane or a DNA strand, but one of the facts of age is
that older skin has fewer antioxidants.
As a result, there are more free radicals and more damage
occurs.
Dermatologists believe this
imbalance in the skin’s antioxidant/free radical content is the primary wrinkled face cause in men and
women. That
makes sense when you know about treatments that are typically considered
effective.
· Here’s something
you might be wondering about.
Are women more likely than men to have facial
wrinkles?
Knowing that
free radical damage caused by sun
exposure is a cause of skin wrinkling…knowing that guys tend to
spend more time outdoors and tend to neglect their skin…you might think that they would have more facial
wrinkles. A
recent study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal reports that women actually have more skin wrinkling,
especially around the mouth.
The study does not say that
the wrinkled face cause in men and women is not the same. It simply shows that the area
around a woman’s mouth is more susceptible or more likely to become wrinkled for two
reasons.
1. Her skin
produces less sebum, which means it is drier. Excessive dryness over time
can lead to a wrinkle.
2. Her skin
contains fewer blood vessels in the area around her mouth. Fewer blood vessels mean
that fewer nutrients reach the skin’s cells to provide nourishment needed for
rejuvenation.

practically every wrinkled face cause in men and women. If you are ready to learn about
